The Big Dipper: Calendar, Compass & Clock
This spectacular production uses cultural legend and scientific fact to enhance appreciation of The Big Dipper. Audiences learn how the Big Dipper can be used as a calendar, a compass, and a clock through stories from four cultures: the Chinese legend of K'uei, the Underground Railroad, the Greek legend of Callisto, and the Micmac Indian legend of the Sky Bear. This curriculum based performance includes over two dozen beautifully crafted marionettes and twice as many shadow images.
The Big Dipper project is partially funded by a grant from the Puppeteers of America Endowment Fund.
