                          Petrushka

Red Herring Puppets shared the stage with Daniel Meyer, conductor and the Asheville Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Stravinsky's Petrushka on May 10, 2008. The show was highly acclaimed:
"Red Herring's production was well planned and beautifully performed. It was very unique and well received by our audience - they loved it!"
Steven R. Hageman, Executive Director, Asheville Symphony
"Larger-than-life puppets of extraordinary grace make for a stunning performance"
Winnie Barrett, President, Asheville Puppetry Alliance
When performed to music, puppets become visual poetry, and their movements and postures are metaphors. The music tells the audience what the puppets are thinking and feeling. With characters this large, the puppeteers need to work as a team much like chamber musicians listening to each other while playing their individual notes. Difficult moves require three people per puppet.

Red Herring Puppets can perform Petrushka with any symphony. To find out more, click here.
